The Hotel said newly renovated. It was just the room, the bathroom has a new shower curtain and the rest of it is old. The hallway floors are very dirty. The elevator smells like dirt. There is visible dirt on the silicone around the vanity. The rooms have new carpets, bedding etc, but then the air conditioner is dirty, the light covers are very old were the dirt can't even come off of it. I was not impressed especially at * a night. I would have upgraded to another hotel, even if it was further away. The parking cost is * plus tax a night and isn't even secure. What a DIVE! Honestly never stay here, I would rather have old and clean not renovated and DIRTY! Still a * cab ride to down town :(

I found the hotel to be OK not great, I stayed here with my wife and 3 grandkids. The room itself was moderately clean(dirt ion shower corners, a worm on the floor, and it just seemed that the room had been given a quick once over. The pool was not exactly what we had in mind...said it was 4 feet deep...I think 2.5 to 3 feet would have been closer to the truth. Kids enjoyed it for a short time because it was hot out,but they didn't choose to go back later or in the morning before departing.

We called the night before our stay to see if we could leave our bags with the concierge at noon to attend the car show, as check in was not until 3pm. The response we received was, “If the room is ready we will check you in…If its not we will keep your bags secure until you return from the car show”. We arrived at 11:30 and were checked in straight away. We were only in the room 5 mins and we received a courtesy call from the front asking if everything with the room was okay. And it was. It was clean, modern and welcoming. We had booked a Jr. Suite for $* taxes in…cant sniff at that price! There is a pool, hot tub, sauna and gym a short walk away (separate building through enclosed above ground walkway). Now, we didn’t use the facilities but I took a walk around to check it out and it looked not bad. The pool is shallow and is really to keep kids happy, but a pool none the less. When we returned from the car show 4 hrs later and I asked the young man at the desk, demanding an honest answer if the hotel restaurant was any good. Without hesitation he said, “No…but there are lots of good places to eat within 10 mins walking distance…what did you have in mind?” That is the kind of honesty I can’t get enough of these days… Five minutes later we were on our way to an Italian place called Frascati. It did not disappoint. It was nothing short of fabulous. Granted it was not that busy when we attended but based on the service and the staff it would not have mattered. I would definitely stay at the Toronto Ramada on Jarvis

I would rate this hotel a 6 out of 10. It's very centrally located to the subway and trolley lines. Inside, the main room was big enough and the two beds were very comfortable with four pillows each and a down comforter. However, one of the beds blocked getting to a set of dresser drawers easily. The room also contained a sofa bed and an upholstered chair as well as a desk and desk chair. The lighting left a lot to be desired. Since the only window looked onto a wall, lighting was very important but it was inadequate. There was no central overhead fixture and one lamp in the corner was difficult to reach over the sofa bed. The tub and shower were great and although I would have preferred a detachable shower head this one had a good flow and a range of pressures. However, during our stay the bathroom sink filled with water once each day for no apparent reason. It happened to our friends who were staying next door also. We didn't know where the water was coming from, probably from a floor above us ;we were on the second floor and it was disconcerting to say the least. Plunging didn't help since it happened a second time. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We told them about the plumbing problem and I assume it will be fixed.

the hotel staff and hotel were good. the area was centrally located. public transportation nearby. we easily hooked up with a Toronto All Day public transportation pass for $9.00 for a family of 4, what a good value. You can ride the subway and or trolley without any advance planning and just wing it, or plan out your trip and ask for help along the way. Everyone was happy to offer help. within walking distance is Toronto Eaton Centre at the intersection of Yonge & Dundas, wow. great shopping, awesome food court economy priced, movie theatre, shopping, shopping, shopping, weekend outdoor gathering place. if you don't have fun, it's your fault.
